Up and out at 8am on a Saturday morning to show some love to the homie Russ.  *yawn*  Russ participated in his first triathlon this morning.

The TriFreaks hosted the Federal Escape Tri 2010 - which included a 1/4 mile swim, an 11.66 bike ride, and finished with a 2.93 run.  Augh that's a lot to do!

Congrats to Russ who did it all in 1 hr and 19 minutes!

118. Love Jones

I am a HUGE HUGE fan of the movie "Love Jones".  There's just something about the spoken word, the art of photography, and the magic of love that's intertwined in this movie that makes it so amazing...

The end of the movie is my favorite part - "I love you; that's urgent like a muthafucker!" *swoon*

117. Who Is Rob Dyrdek?

Anyone that knows anything about the world of skateboarding knows the name Rob Dyrdek.  This crazy fucker has done what everyone with hopes and dreams desires to do - accomplish them all above and beyond their wildest imagination.  Rob took his initial love and passion for skateboarding to become an entrepreneur and a philanthropist.  This episode from his MTV show Fantasy Factory highlights the road that Rob started n and the crazy adventures he's been on along the way.  I learned a lot more about the man and set aside the name after I saw this.  Enjoy!

115. Billionaire Sway

What do these 6 billionaires have in common?
(aside from the fact that  I want all of their riches!)

Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Ted Turner, George Lucas, Larry Ellison and Mayor Bloomberg are among forty billionaires who are signing 'The Giving Pledge', a charity drive started by Gates and Buffett.

BY Barry Paddock
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

Billionaires are lining up to give their money away.

Six weeks after Warren Buffett and Bill Gates kicked off a campaign to convince fat cats to join them in giving away most of their fortune, they've found 40 takers.

"I've been surprised how much progress we've actually made," Buffett said. "We're hoping that America, which is already the most generous society on Earth, becomes even more generous."

Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates personally called 80 people on the Forbes list of the 400 wealthiest Americans.

They pushed them to sign the Giving Pledge, a vow to donate at least half your fortune by the time you die.

The 40 takers include well-known names like media mogul Ted Turner, "Star Wars" creator George Lucas and media baron Barry Diller. Among the first to sign on was Mayor Bloomberg.

In today's society where so many of our own peers struggle to make ends meet; it is amazing to see a selfless act like this come together.  Most people will never even fathom owning the kind of money that these people have - but someone will be able to benefit from it in the future.  Bravo!  Does anyone else hear B.O.B and Bruno Mars in the background?

110. Old Sway

Another humorous email to make you smile...

"An old woman with no enemies..."
98 and no enemies - human interest story

Toward the end of Sunday service, the Minister asked, 'How many of you have forgiven your enemies?'

80% held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question. No one responded this time, except one small elderly lady.

'Mrs. Neely? Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?'

'I don't have any.' She replied, smiling sweetly.

'Mrs. Neely, that is very unusual. How old are you? '

'Ninety-eight, 'she replied. The congregation stood up and clapped their hands.

'Oh, Mrs. Neely, would you please come down in front & tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years and not have an enemy in the world? '

The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation, and said,
'I outlived the bitches'.

107. Conversational Sway

Today I had a brief yet inspiring conversation with a fellow coworker.  We were chatting about progression within the company and it segued into a conversation about the ups and downs we were currently facing.  It was such a powerful conversation to have while passing one another in the hallway!

The quote that sticks out most in my head went something along these lines;  "I've been through so much.  I've lost every piece of me at one point or another.  I've lost my home.  I've lost my job.  I've lost my child.  I feel like I've lost my mind.  But I'm still here.  I'm still working through it all.  Nothing that I've gone through has broken me and I won't let it."

Putting it into perspective - it makes you realize how minuscule some of your own problems may be.  She is truly an inspiration to keep pushing forward.

104. Anniversary Sway

Five years ago two people set off on a secret journey to a foreign land. The purpose was to get to know one another without the distraction of familiar surroundings and medaling people. Taking each other out of their own elements, they were able to set aside the bullshit and drama and really get to the nitty gritty of each others core personality, aspirations, thoughts, etc. There were no expectations, no rules, no innuendos, just the intention of trying to learn about each other. They knew there was a lot of risk, a lot of damage control that would have to be done, and they had to be honest with themselves and each other to decide if it was worth it. The motto for the weekend was “honesty with no regrets”.

Most people had/have no knowledge this ever took place. When looking back it could all seem like a dream of perfection that took place in a distant land along a sandy beach at low tide. The waking up part consisted of a long and nervous drive home. The end result of this mini psycho- analyzation experiment aka the seceret roadtrip to vancouver?

We both decided to jump and hoped for the best. Lucky for me – I found the best!

Just last week while I was in Vancouver I heard a catchy song that made me smile and feel reminiscent of this secret trip we took so long ago... so here goes "Loving You Tonight" by Andrew Allen
Lost in the day, in a way, its same as the one before This, and I wish, I could say that’s its all black and white But its grey, it’s the same, it’s the same and I’m so tired but You are what I’m coming home to Pre Thinking about a red wine buzz and takin’ it easy When I’ve got you in my arms, taki’n a break from crazy

I’ll say hey, you’ll say baby, how’s your day, I’ll say crazy But its It’s all gonna be alright You’ll kiss my smile, I’ll pull you closer, spend a while just getting to know ya It’s all gonna be alright, cuz I’m loving you tonight

You’re there on my heart, at the start, of my every morning and I, can’t deny, by the end of the day that I’m running on empty You make me full, steal my breath, you’re so unpredictable That’s what I’m coming home to Pre Dreaming about a romance, slow dancing with you With you in arms, I don’t care what we do Bridge Every day is the just in-between The hours separating you from me I know you’ll be waiting I know that you’re waiting

101. Supportive Sway

‎"Looking back, we see with great clarity, and what once appeared as difficulties now reveal themselves as blessings." Dan Millman

Today you hit a minor roadblock in your otherwise perfect routine.  While you may feel lost, hurt, upset, angry, or whatever - know that you have a strong support system.  You have a family and a circle of friends that are all here to assist in any way shape or form.  While love can't make this particular situation better - it will be there to do everything else you need.  Keep your head up, your mind right, and your heart open - WE will get through this... on to the next one!

100. Personal Sway

I've made it to my 100th post!  I know I've been lagging on doing this as a "daily thing" but I'm trying my best to update and stay accurate.  You will actually see a bombardment of posts in the next 24 hours... I've been working on getting caught up and making sure I kept things in chronological order.

The past 100 days since I've started this process has been such a blur. I can't believe how many times a day I find myself inspired or drawn to something. I can't begin to explain the "light bulb" sensation that occurs when my senses are triggered by something to feel inspired enough to share it with you all. I'm sure that most of my posts are random to you, the few that read this, but I would hope that there are a few that touch your heart, make you feel something, make you laugh, drool, or nod your head in agreement.

I started this blog because I felt like I was lost and need to search for something to help me find myself again.  In this 100 days - I feel like there is so much more for me to look for.  I'm inspired but inspired to do what?  Maybe I'll find something else in the next 100 days...

*cheers*

098. Go BROchelle Go BROchelle Go!

A few weeks ago I had the privilege and the honor to be a part of the Escobedo-Valbuena nuptials in Vancouver, BC. I can't begin to explain how amazing this experience has been for me.  I feel like all the little hiccups, stress, time, travel etc was worth every single second of this weekend.  It was a beautiful day, a heartfelt ceremony, and kick ass (I couldn't think of a better adjective) reception. hahaha.  This weekends events falls into the EPIC category in my book.

You all know I take forever with pictures so you'll just have to be patient and wait 3 months before they surface!  I did manage to post a few with the help of Noelle and Jen's pictures as well as the photographers from Orange Passion and  my own.  Click the pictures for enlarged viewing...

093. Team Screamer

July 4th weekend was eventful, awesome, crazy, and um... insert whatever other adjective you'd like.  We spent the Nations bday in it's hat aka Canadia!!  Or at least a few hours of the day.  Since we left so later *ahem* we fast tracked our adventure and ran through Robson, grubbed at Fritz, snagged some maple crullers, watch team fat kid get international in the Yaohan food court, and finally ended w/ the  BEST DRINK ON EARTH - SCREAMERS!!!

We fast tracked it to the border and cruised Seattle bound via I-5 while laughing our asses off and watching 20+ fireworks shows!  In rockstar fashion we walked into Venom (insert BOO) a little after midnight, drank like fools, and ended the night/morning watching Hot Tub Time Machine laid out on the floor.

091. Oxygen Mask?

"Secure your own oxygen mask first before assisting others"

You know you hear this on airplane announcements constantly.  I actually overheard someone yelling this at a friend the other day.  It was not in the right context but I thought it to be humorous yet so true in the literal sense.  Only when one that can assist themselves can they be fit to assist others... so simple. Think about it...

090. Artistic Sway

Every time I see this painting I get cold chills.
Painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1889
The Starry Night is actually a view outside of van Gogh's Asylum room window at night. Eh - slightly creepy I know but it is one of the most replicated paintings known to man.  In fact I have a print replica and a woven tapasery of it at home... anyways - hope you enjoy the random art.
