064. Race for the Cure

My 3rd year of doing the Race for the Cure Seattle - after weeks of trying to prep and fund raise and train - the day came and went in a blur.  I write this from the recliner in my sweats w/ salonpas patches on my calves while wrapped in a blanket.

I woke up to an awkward yet familiar sound this morning?!?  Is that... RAIN?!  After searching for my glasses I glanced at the clock 7:22am - I should be on the way to Seattle already!  scrambling around the house trying to grab everything and get out the door; I forgot my bagels and water and realized the last thing I consumed was a redbull vodka the night before (smh).

Cranky, panicked, and hungry - I missed my 8:15start time :(
BUT after much coursing - Kenji and Chuckie agreed to run the coed 5k w/ me!

My Team @ the Start Line
Chuckie, me, Kenji

I was so eager to cross the finish line!!

extra perk - We also saw James Riley *oh boy*

Despite the late start and the crappy weather - I have to say that the day was amazing.  I am so appreciative of all the well wishes, the donations, and the general support.  Special thanks to Kenji and Chuckie for not only agreeing to be my teammates but for running the course on the fly (and beating me)!  You guys were great company for the 2.5 miles :) Thanks for seeing it all through.
To my mom - you'remy hero and my inspiration.
