In July we made a trek to Canadia - while walking down Robson we noticed a large group of people gathered on the sidewalk. Naturally we were curious so... we walked in that direction. To our surprise - we found a sidewalk chalk artist in full element*. He wasn't speaking to anyone about his work or shooing anyone away. He was diligently working on his hands and knees creating art on the cracked dirty concrete sidewalk. What he created was simply amazing...
I tried to google the artist when I got home but using Toronto, Sing, and chalk art didn't get me very far... I did happen to find this little blirb about him... http://www.flickr.com/photos/zenimagery/3665948659/ which led me to this Xing Hua Tang. So amazed at his humblness and his talent. Looking forward to spotting him again one day..
*Element: when someone is in the zone (deep tunnel vision) doing what they love to do and shutting out their surroundings/distractions while doing it. ex: The DJ was in his element tonight making the crowd go insane.
