The office is almost empty and those that are still here have completely zoned out. Everyone is in holiday mindset; including myself. Today I had to pretend like I was busy because I had an abundance of visitors at my desk. Everyone flocked in my direction all because of a fun package that came in the mail.
During the holidays EVERYONE sends random gift baskets of fruits and goodies. This year, all I hear is grumblings of "remember when we were flooded with gifts" and "remember when business was good we would get truffles and caviar" or "I feel like we're scrounging for the good stuff". To me that's just petty and it takes away from the essence of the holiday. Yes remember those times but be thankful for these times now. Appreciate the today and those little things.
Remember that time that my desk was covered with 5lbs of brownies, 1 lb of chocolate covered cherries, and roasted almonds? psshhh that was TODAY!
Thank you to my sweet hippie BDM Jeannie in Texas for sending me not just this tin of treats but 3 tins to share with everyone.
