266. Christmas Sway

I'm writing this while en route to Christmas family gathering #3 of the day.  This year I feel blessed to have bee able to spread out my Christmas celebrations and gatherings over a 5 day weekend!  It's been quite the adrenaline rush and I feel like I am earning every minute of sleep.  I have been able to see all of my family and spend time with all of Kenji's family,  keep up all the holiday traditions and see friends of old and new.  As overwhelming as it may be running from place to place - I am humbled, I am blessed, and I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to do so.

Christmas is not about the gifts and the glitter and glamor to me.  Its about the moments you share with those near and dear.  It's the personal holiday greetings.  The random gifts you give and the ones you don't expect to receive.  I feel like the past few years were centered on the materialistic things; in this day and age with the economy - people have to step back and remember what Christmas should truly mean.  I'd rather receive the gift of time and companionship from everyone instead of the wrapped items.

It's a personal challenge I offer to you all and to myself - give that gift of time to others this year (and next).  You will be rewarded more than you could imagine.

Merry Christmas - God Bless.
oh and Happy Birthday Jesus!

"Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves."  - Eric Sevareid
